Domain/Web
Services Q&A:

When I
send mail using http://webmail.valley.net, the replies to my message
are being sent to an e-mail address at @northridge.valley.net, rather
than to an e-mail address to my domain name?
This problem occurs
on http://webmail.valley.net when the "E-mail Address"
and "Reply To" address fields are not filled in. Because
the "E-mail Address" and "Reply To" fields are
not filled in, the server defaults the reply-to address to whatever
the username is, @northridge.valley.net (i.e. username@northridge.valley.net),
rather than the username at the domain name (i.e. username@userdomain.com).
To correct the problem,
the "E-mail Address" and "Reply To" fields must
be filled in. The following are instructions on setting these fields
on http://webmail.valley.net:
-
Log
on to http://webmail.valley.net with your POP mail user account
and password.
- Once logged in, click
on the "Options" hyperlink to open the Options
web page.
- Once the Options
web page has loaded, click on the "Personal Information"
hyperlink to open the Options - Personal Information web
page.
- Once the Options
- Personal Information web page has loaded, there are three
fields, "Full Name", "E-mail Address" and "Reply
To", which need to be filled in.
- In the "Full Name"
field, enter the name to be displayed (such as a person's name or
business) when a sent e-mail is received by the receiver (i.e. John
Smith).
- In the "E-mail
Address" field, enter the domain e-mail address for the account
(i.e. jsmith@smith-inc.com).
- In the "Reply
To" field, enter the domain e-mail address for the account
(i.e. jsmith@smith-inc.com).
- Finally, click on the
"Submit button" to confirm and update the changes.
Now when a receiver replies
to a sent e-mail, it will go to the correct e-mail address.
